deeper sound

Very pretty work Dave. My question is how do you get the mouth piece to hold right there. Just epoxy, or do you use some dowels or something? Looks a little fragile to me is why I ask.

These are way cool! Are there any tutorials on making this type of owl hooter? I can see some from the pics....but not sure of dimensions....extra holes etc...... Would be great to see how the mouth piece is fitted and connected. Thanks for help....

Braz, I shape the mouthpiece with a 1 1/2" drum sander so it fits tightly to the call, I then use 2 part epoxy. It is more secure than it looks, there is quite a bit of surface area on the bottom of the mouthpiece for the glue. You could conceivably use some brass brads to help pin it on, and it might not be a bad idea.

Brad, I don't know of any tutorials on making these, Lynch, Primos, Eight Hooter all made similar calls.

 I'd like to look at one of those Eight Hooters.
No doubt if you're wanting to make one out of wood, the cheapest wooden call to take a look at is a Lynch.
MY BIT CAME TONIGHT! I'M IN BUSINESS NOW!

I dug deep into my goodie cabinet to come up with this Hoot call,Here's a fast pic. I made Vince to give ya an idea of the Eight Hooter, thats a leather strap going through the call. (http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n298/spurs8/eghthoot.jpg)
