Hello all....Been buying call making supplies from Al for a while now, but just noticed a few minutes ago that this website has a forum, so I joined up. Obviously, I ain't the most observant of people...Looks like a great place, and I'm glad to be here....

Al, if you see this, this is a sample of the wood I butcher up, and use your call guts for.....Not very good at it, but it is a very enjoyable hobby. This is a Box Elder crow caller....

Welcome to the Forum!

That's a pretty nice looking call.   I like the detail in the bell end, and the wood is pretty sharp too.

Glad you found us and hope you enjoy it here!

Welcome to the site. Very nice looking call. I had a box elder fall this winter from the weight of snow and wouldn't you know it, no color in it at all. I guess It'll go in the wood stove next winter.

Thanks for the welcome and the compliments guys....

flyer48, that is the natural color of the wood....All it has is 3 coats of wax on it.

John, a neighbor of mine had a big box elder fall the other day, and asked me to get it out of there and turn it into sawdust. Can't wait to see if it has some color in it.
