Title: Turning Bois D; Arc brown
Post by: ben on April 14, 2019, 05:21:05 PM
Does anyone know of a method to turn Bois D" Arc the deep brown color that it gets as it ages. I know the U V is what does it but just want to hurry it up.

Benney: I know that "easy off oven cleaner" works on cherry to turn it dark. Try it on a scrap of Osage.

There's a method to turn hedge green using a vinegar & rusty metal mixture I believe.  There's a discussion or two somewhere in these forums, I'm sure.

Benny, best thing is to soak it in velvit oil after you turn it, then set it out in the sun.
