Title: Aluminium surface question
Post by: Areid on July 12, 2018, 01:36:53 AM
Hey everybody, I am looking for information about the type of aluminium used for pot call surfaces. I have made alot of aluminium calls and they sound good. But they would be so much cheaper for me personally to make if I just ordered sheets of aluminium and cut my own disc's out. Just curious if anyone else does this, and what type of alloy you prefer to use?20-24, 50-52, 6061? In doing this I can also anodize it whatever color I like. Thanks for any help on this guys?

I honestly have no idea but I would be interested if you ever wanted to sell anodized aluminum surfaces in custom colors.

Ok. Thanks for the reply Rob. Seems that this topic is on the not to be discussed list possibly.  I have some custom wood orders to finish but when I get some aluminum tested and iIlike it I will get back with you.

You do know that the board is closed for all practical purposes?   Could be why no one is "discussing" your topic.  Just a guess.   Everyone moved to facebook.  Try there.

Why not just buy pre cut aluminum call surfaces?

If I was to do it myself I'd say use 6061
