Title: Pot call tolerances
Post by: Rob_McFadden on October 20, 2017, 08:21:32 PM
Watsup everybody, I have started to reproduce one of my calls (10 at a time.). Obviously I try to keep them as uniform as possible but was wondering what amount of tolerance between them you find acceptable? I usually don't measure w the calipers until I'm almost done w each call because if I did measure after each step I would drive myself crazy and it would take forever.  Thanks in advance for the responses.

Also I called in and harvested a turkey using one of my calls last spring, was pretty awesome.

I am reproducing a sound much more than a look. I want my measurements pretty darn tight on pot calls.

Ok thanks for the reply, I try to keep tight tolerances too. I just wonder if I'm being to anal sometimes, but I guess it will keep my work up to a certain standard of quality.

I pay very close attention to my measurements. A difference of a hundredth can change the sound of your call. I know it takes longer but I would rather have someone like the sound more than the looks.
