First post and would just like to say how awesome this forum is! I can't even begin to say how much I've learned reading through here. I'm having trouble on my lanyard grooves getting them sanded all the way smooth. It always seems to leave a little bit of a white ring. Is there a good trick to getting up against corners in the grooves? Thanks in advance.

I use a carbide diamond point cutter on mine and it leaves a near finished product

If your talking about the white residue left in the cracks from the polishing compound. Even though I am a fanatic and like sharp clean lines on my calls I have moved to a more smooth look with Acrylic. To eliminate your problem leave no sharp edges in your lanyard groove or other places. This way all surfaces with polish off clean.

Got it. Thank you guys. Went back out and turned another barrel and the soft edges make it way easier to get in there with sanding and polishing. Thanks for helping a newbie.
