Title: couple calls
Post by: AndyWhitson on March 15, 2015, 12:43:12 AM
Pretty new to call making. Here are four I made, 2 from Quilted Maple, one from Red Padauk and one from Zebrawood.

Another distress and a howler from Cocobolo

Great work and it looks like you made our own toneboard and reeds.  I like that.  Are you looking for JC reeds on your enclosed call or making your own?

Thanks. I did make my own toneboards and cut some mylar for reeds. The toneboards were very time consuming to make to get the sound I wanted. I have some JC reeds that I will use for closed reed calls.

The toneboard reed cutting and tuning are about 2/3's of my build time also.  I drill my TB on the lathe.  Then cut a genreal shape and the band saw.  Then a little more general shaping on the  belt sander.  Then Patience, a file, a dremmel, and sharp scissors gets it done.
