Title: A block of wood...
Post by: gooseforsupper on November 25, 2014, 10:11:30 PM
A couple of flutes I just finished up...  You never know what hides in a block of wood.

For my good friend Lewis, a trade call.  Big leaf maple burl and Claro walnut, with bloodwood accents.

This one for a customer that wants a great piece of birds eye maple, with dark Claro walnut accents...

Working with fine wood is a treat!  Thanks for giving me a place to share my passion.

Daaang Buddy, You sure know how to take a block of wood and turn it into a work of art! And I know they sound just as good as they look to. I cant wait to get it and put it in the front of my collection.  Thx Buddy great job.

A real nice combo of 3 color glue up.  Its total fun to try to find the woods to glue up with good contrast, and better yet to try another different style of laminating as you never know how it will look until turned.
I know your having fun Doug.    :2up:
