Title: Flamming Stabalized Wood
Post by: Chris @ STW Outdoors on September 28, 2014, 04:29:55 PM
Just wondering if you can flame stabilized wood. Anyone know if it works, or does it screw up the resin? Thanks for any answers you may have.

You might want to try it on a scrap, the stabilized woods contain resin, but I don't think resin will like fire.

Doesn't sound like a good idea to me Chris.

I don't know about flames but you can do burn lines with a wire and it seems to work okay.

Yeah, it was just a curiosity. I noticed that the cured cactus juice is rated to 400 degrees. That might not be enough for the business end of a torch. I might try it out just to see what happens. I will have the fire extinguisher handy :hysterical:

Thanks for the input guys.

I'm with the others. Not a good idea.
