Just got my chamber in today and wanted to show it to you guys, and see what other people were using.
Harbor freight vacuum pump, I got it for 35 bucks at a garage sale. I was skeptical it would even pull 25hg...

Here's the chamber, I got it from a company called "Slick Vac Seal" This chamber is really quality (to me atleast) And they shipped it in 3 days!!

This is the part that surprised me, at around 800 feet above sea level, I figured with a good pump I couldn't even pull 29.5 hg... With my cheapo pump I got this!!!!!! Right out of the box!

Looks like you're off to a great start. Will definitely be interested to hear how stabilizing goes once you get some resin and some soft punky wood!
-
Aaron, I already got the resin, and I already have some maple burl!! I did two pieces last night and they turned out great.....
-
Let's see some pieces you stabilized
-
If you go to the turkey section and go to the post "Stabilized Spalted Maple" you can see one. I have only done 2 other blanks and I haven't turned them yet.

 man that is awesome, I have been collecting parts for several months now, to make my own chamber and now looking at your post just blows my mind. something so simple. thank you. Im getting one now...

Thats a nice looking setup you've got there! I have been thinking about getting a chamber and pump for a while and you might have pushed me over the edge!
