I went to a small coyote calling contest a few weeks ago. I figured it was a good opprotunity to test out the frames I've been tinkering with on some other folks ears. Seems they liked it!
My wife required a photo when I got home.

Outstanding, congratulations!

Awesome! Tell us a bit more! What kind of vocalizations? How many people entered? How did they have the contest set up, ie number of rounds, calling duration, etc

That's great, Rick! Congrats!

Thanks you!
The contest was very small. I don't recall how many were in. Less than a dozen for sure. Contestants drew a number and were summoned by number only. There were 3 judges behind curtains so they only knew the number of the contestant. Sounds were judged 0-20 scale. In event of a tie.... I don't know how they planned to settle.
Sounds were: adult long howl, aggressive howl, pup distress, cottontail, and stand scenario.
Here is a video of me running the same call. Sorry for the poor camera angle. I made the video for a buddy without the intent of sharing it with others so I was not concerned while taking it with my iPad. Lol

Thanks fellas.
Lucky, I do make the call I used in that vid. It's also the same call I used in the contest. Its a two reed call. I started messing with making frames a few months ago. For about a year I used frames that Mark Andes (lonehowl) was making. I liked his calls very much but wanted to make my own.... I think y'all know how that is. I've got the 2 reed with no cuts where I like it. I'm still messing with cuts on a predator call. I've not even attempted a turkey call yet. I'm pretty green with turkey calling. I'm good enough to fool the dumb ones though.
