Has anyone stabilized a cow horn yet?

Old post, I know. But, in case the OP still wants input, here is my tuppence. I see no need to stable horn. It is pretty dense and moisture resistant as is. I make stuff from horn and consider the material olde timey plastic. Plus many (all?) stable solutions might affect horn as they contain a lot of solvent. Same advice for antler. IMHO  :no:

Thank you.  Makes sense.  I do not do much horn work anymore. 

One concern I was trying to address then was for the inside of my howlers.  They get pretty wet inside after repeated us.  Leaving the inside of the horn raw would start to smell.  I use CA to prevent this.  It works fine.  It is easy enought and probably less expensive.

The other was for horns that were not in very good condition or had air pockets between fibers.
