Title: Lanyard Supplies
Post by: jwylie1958 on June 20, 2013, 01:01:31 PM
I have a hard time getting lanyards for my calls so have decided I am going to make them myself. Can anyone suggest a good supplier for parachute cord?

How much are you looking to purchase?

I would probably look at 3 colors and 100' of each to start.

Any ideas what colors you're looking for I think I still have 3-4 colors around the shop.

Here are a few that I had book marked until I found a local supplier.

Look at Amazon, if you have a Prime shipping account you can find para cord for around 8 cents a foot shipped for 100' hanks.  Cheaper if you buy the 1000' spools.

I have made a bunch of paracord bracelets for crafts fairs and I always go through

www.paracordonline.com

they seem to have the best selections

I've made over a hundred of these things in the last two years. You wouldn't think there is that much difference, but there is. I get all my paracord from two different suppliers:

http://fullbellyinsurance.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=65_120

and

http://www.gorillaparacord.com/

Fully Belly has flat rate shipping of $7.50 if you get 3 or more hanks. Gorilla has free shipping, but they don't have the variety that full belly does. Full Belly has ALOT of variety. I could go to the local military surplus here in Kansas City, but I'll end up paying about 10 cents a foot. With full belly you'll pay about 5-6 cents per foot not including shipping. Gorilla will run you about 9-10 cents per foot, but shipping is free even if you order only one hank and I don't have to venture into the city to get it. They have the better quality paracord in my opinion. Fully belly has a few different vendors they use so quality will vary. Gorilla makes their own I believe. Anyway, just my two cents.
