I didn't know that persimmon was harder than osage.

Persimmon was the wood that the wood golf clubs were made from.

I still have my first driver that I picked up at a garage sale. It's persimmon and let me tell you, it can really take a beating. I'm a terrible golfer and I should know  :rofl:
