Title: 6 pieces of free aluminum
Post by: Aaron at Wingerts Woodworks on May 19, 2011, 11:22:52 PM
I've got six pieces of 3-1/2" aluminum (silver color, not blasted) that I'm not going to use.  The first person to post here in this thread that they want it can have it.  Just cover $6 shipping (USA).  It would make a fine call, I just prefer to use the anodized stuff these days.

I LOVE aluminum pot calls.  They're a hard sell, because people are always worried about the shine when they ask me about them.  Last time I checked, I don't point the top of the call at the turkey.  I either point the bottom at the turkey, or point the bottom almost at the ground.

They CALL in some birds though.   :punk:

  I can't believe it took me 15 minutes to find these!  I've been out and about other places on the net looking at drill chucks.

Aluminum's my best seller this season.  Properly made, an aluminum call will flat scream like a box call but you can do really soft little tree yelps and purrs with them too.  I just prefer to use the black powder blasted stuff.

Getting yours from Darin at Grassy Creek?  He was out when I put an order in last week.  I dunno anyone else selling it?

I like the black better than the green too.  A brown sure would be cool.

Yeah, Darin's out of it unfortunately.  He said he'd have more in a month or so.  Brookside's is fine, but it is not powder blasted so in order to condition the smooth aluminum you have to ruin the anodizing.  The powder blasted aluminum requires no conditioning.  I've never tried the green but am going to have to order some just so I have something to offer...Although I hate the idea of green.

The green just looks out of place with natural wood in my opinion.
