If I had it to do over, I would have bought the collet chuck. I never even use my 4 jaw, don't even know why I bought it, just sits on the shelf collecting dust. Pretty expensive paperweight........

Hey guys, Just a reminder that I have the PSI collet chucks sets for sale on my website for $85.95 + 6.95 USPS. If anyone is considering buying one it will save you a few bucks and support the little guy if you were so kind to let me have the order. The collet chucks are in stock here and will ship within 24 hours. PSI usually takes 2-3 days to ship out. I also have the expanding brass shafts to fit the collets. The brass won't dull your chisels when you accidentally hit the shaft. I am also making custom shaft sizes and step shafts if you need an expanding mandrel with a step down to accomodate your chuck capacity.

Thanks,

If you learn how to use it, you will find it is a lot more useful than the collet chuck.  If I had to give up all of my chucks except one I would keep the 4 jaw chuck.  If I could keep 2 chucks, my number 2 choice would be the drill chuck. As useful as the collet chucks are it would come in third place.

30 years ago, any of these chucks were a rare thing in a woodturners shop.  First came the drill chucks, then the 4 jaws.  The first 4 jaws were converted metal lathe chucks, high dollar and out of the price range of most woodturners, besides they really were not worth what they were priced.

I use the snot out of my 4 jaw. It's an amazing tool once you get past the idea that something has to fit inside it.....

Using your imagination, you can get ahold of damn neared anything with a 4 jaw chuck.
