Yea I might do that if we start seeing some interest .
Well, I have a problem with that attitude. The forum is very open, and we encourage the sharing of information and items amongst each other.
However, we do have a process set up specifically for people who want to advertise products or services on the site.
We do not charge advertisers, but we do ask that you at least take the time to
read the TOS and Advertising Info post at the top of the forum.
It's simply a matter of respect.
Now,
WHY? do we have the advertising process set up the way we do?
Because between the moderators and administrative staff we have probably dealt with or know of most of the folks in the call making business. Between the 6 of us, we know who is reliable and who is trustworthy.
Please keep in mind that this site belongs to the members, but we still have to ensure that each and every member has a good experience here. If we let people advertise who we dont know, or who we do know are not reliable, then we are hurting the members who buy from them. By not charging anyone to advertise, we are not beholding to anyone, and can remove someone who is not treating people right. The advertising process is set up to protect the members of this site plain and simple. It has nothing to do with the THO Game Calls Store, as we have at least two advertisers who directly compete with my store, showing products here. I honestly do not think it is too much to ask someone to at least follow the process we have in place when we dont charge them a single dime to advertise on this site.
As for the ringer tool, I sent an e mail to Ed Glenn. I had heard that there was a patent on the brass ringer. If this is true, and someone duplicates it, we will not allow that person to advertise it or their web site if they sell it there, due to the legal implications. If it is not patented, and someone copies the tool, chances are pretty high that we wont allow it to be advertised on this site either, out of respect for the originators of the product. In this instance, it comes down to the reputation and integrity of the board, and the people who administer and moderate it.
