My entry.  Basic celtic knot. Walnut with birds eye tied in.  Was my first knot and it came out pretty darn good.
Turkey trumpet with aluminum band and mouthpiece.

My entry. Also my first celtic knot, I said I was going to enter it regardless, so here it is. Scrap Pecan and Texas Ebony, not sure what the insert is made from, it was also in the scrap box, it may be Wenge?
I'm for sure going to do some more of these, this was a fun call to make. The glare makes the inlay look uneven, but it turned out very nice, just a lousy picture.

Ok so here is my entry to the contest. It wasn't what I had planned to do but what I tried to do didn't turn out the way I wanted it to and I trashed it so here is what I made instead.

It is a slate over glass Curly Maple, Figured Walnut and Walnut. I bookmatched the figured walnut to give it a nice little touch. You will notice how the grains lines up perfect and there are actually small curls in the Walnut that go from the outside in. I had the idea of doing a bookmatch with somekind of figured wood in the past but never tried it until now. I like the results.

BTW---all pictures need to be posted by midnight EST and then I will add the poll to this thread in my original post so we can vote. You can still vote even if you did not enter the conest.

Its not exactly what I wanted to do, but due to time its what I came up with and it tested every last nerve glueing those angled pieces.

You all saw my original plan go up in smoke so here is my back up.
pot is walnut bottom with cherry center and wormy chestnut sides.
striker is cherry peg with cedar and red oak. I wish the pictures showed off the colors, as this is my best work so far the cedar glows when the light hits it. It is  smoked glass over slate two sided call. The slate has a hand engraved turkey track. I finished it just in time.

OK, I posted a poll. Is it OK? I gave it 7 days for the voting.

Well.....I really think that the poll should be in the same post as the pictures so there aren't 3 threads for people to have to go to seems like it would make things easier. I will post the link here to people can come into this one and clcik right into the poll without having to look.

Also, votes end on June 29th midnight then winner is announced June 30th, that way the new challenge can be given by the winner and try to give 3 weeks for completion.

Thanks for the help Braz
