You looking to make duck call, goose calls, predator calls, or deer calls?  A good place to start is at Al's supply store.  He has most everything to get you started.

Don't give up making them. Once you make one you really like make a jig from wood just to rough them out then finish them up by hand. I thought I had it figured out lots of times then I'll notice something wrong with them and start over again. I think making the boards is half the fun. I keep a howler I really like close by so when I'm making a board I can compair the sound. I never test them in the shop, besides the noise they sound different inside.   Good luck with it.

Almost forgot, You can look up Loren Reese predator calls. He sells toneboards. He's in Alaska. I have never bought his distress boards but some of his howler boards are pretty good.

There are a few folks that make their own, but not a lot that sell just toneboards.  The time it takes to fabricate a custom made toneboard out of a rod of delrin usually isn't very conducive for how much folks are willing to pay for predator toneboards.  If toneboards take an hour or two to make and tune, and the going price for a toneboard is $3-5, you can see why folks don't sell too many.  There are a few folks out there that sell toneboards, but most are molded boards or boards that are cnc'd that don't take much time to make.

Making your own is very rewarding.  There are a couple of tutorials here on how to make them.  If you have any questions about making them, just ask away.  Folks are very willing to help out.

There are many ways to make them easy enough....after several of the bought ones and you get used to tuning them and maybe modifying some you will try it and see it is addictive.
Most of the ones I make never make it to the internet the local boys gobble them up.
I personally hunt a lot with a call I made that has one of Lorens KO tone boards in it and I have had so many good hunts using it I may never quit using them.
AL has never failed me yet with anything I have bought from him or from folks that use his stuff....Quite a bit of AL's stuff in my hunting gear as well....and the shipping is real quick... :2up:
