Here it is everyone, 5 videos showing the reed of a duck call using a High Speed camera.
1st let me thank my co workers for allowing me to do this and for working with the camera system to get the 1st time footage. A big thank you to Wade and Stumpjumper for getting me barrels and inserts ASAP.
I enjoyed doing this and learned a lot about how a reed moves in a duck call.
My Coworker camera operator said this was a small target and worked hard at getting the camera focused and lighting correct.
We did use compress air using shot blast of air just like we would to get a "quack" out of a call. I made the set up to try and get the best sound I could with compressed air very very low PSI. That's why the air gun is in the PVC pipe, it just sound better with that set up.
I could not get the footage off the laptop with out supporting software, so I had to video the video.
The camera is a 250 frames per second system, and still is a blur to see super clearly. Man the reed moves!!
Now I need to get the work on gluing some wood together for St Charles.
The set up picture
Video 1 is shot more from the top to show how the reed moves all the way back to the cork.

I really like the way the reed is bent upward and almost like the contour of the tone board. This is my favorite one.

Enjoy and it was a pleasure to be able to do this.
