Keep at it......you wont regret it.....I filled a whole box of kindling for the fireplace before I finally figured it out.  Keep watching those videos.

Shane, you START sanding your wood at 600?  Man I'd start at 320 or even 220 to get everything smoothed off.  Then go up to 600.  Heck a lot of the time I only use 320 and stop there when I'm doing a CA finish.
