New to THO- here are my 1st three calls.

Hello from California. I used to duck and goose hunt about 8 years ago, wanting to get back in the field.
Anyhow, here are my first 3 duck calls. I do not consider myself a call maker, since I use pre-made inserts from Echo calls.
Any tips, comments, constructive criticism, all greatly accepted and appreciated.

#1 Cocobolo wood, Timber Duck Call- gunmetal band from Ron Gould- bourbon insert from Echo calls.

#2 - Cocobolo wood, Coffee ground inlay - Timber Duck Call- gunmetal band from Ron Gould- bourbon insert from Echo calls.

Foldgers Coffee ground inlay - I later noticed the scratch that appears in this photo, and polished it out.

#3 Purple and Black acrylic -Clear open water call, Echo insert. Gunmetal band from Ron Gould.

  :welcome: Man your barrels look awesome. Nice finish and a eye for detail. Next get a jig you have the gift now put it to the test!  :bigup:

Thanks, Larry!
I fully intend on getting a jig soon. I also would like to make the wedge and cut my own reeds also. I'll keep at it, we'll see what happens!

Those are some nice looking calls. The Purple is just killer!! I think it's the band choice that does it for me. Very cool!!  :yes: :yes:

Thanks everyone, for the warm welcome and kind words!

I will be turning a goose call tonight, out of african blackwood, black Echo insert, and another gunmetal band from Ron Gould.

I really like the gunmetal, goes with pretty much, everything.
