I do have a homemade jig. I have no idea what kind of wood this is, it was a tapping block that came with some imported, unassembled piece of furniture I purchased years ago. Used it again as a tapping block a couple years ago when installing some bamboo flooring in my house, could hardly dent it. I initially cut it as a flat jig, then after finally coming up with a toneboard I was happy with I sanded it down to the profile of that toneboard on the belt sander.
